On April 4, 2025, PASAA Journal, a Scopus-indexed (Quartile 2) journal of Chulalongkorn University Language Institute and the oldest journal in English language learning and teaching in Thailand, hosted a forum entitled “Authoring Manuscripts: Do’s, Don’ts, and More” at the meeting room on the second floor of Chulalongkorn University Auditorium. The forum brought together three editors-in-chief of leading journals in the country—Associate Professor Dr. Punchalee Wasanasomsithi, editor-in-chief of PASAA Journal, Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Phoocharoensil, editor-in-chief of LEARN Journal of Thammasat University, and Assistant Professor Thanit Tangkitcharoenkul, editor-in-chief of rEFLections Journal of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.
This event drew inspiration from the journal’s original title “PASAA Sangsan” or “language forum,” which was bestowed upon it in 1974 by M.L. Boonlua Debyasuvarn, a doyenne of Thai literary criticism. The forum offered insights into the readership of the three journals on what the editors-in-chief of journals are seeking when selecting submissions for peer review. It is also a good opportunity for almost 100 participants who are university lecturers and graduate students, both on site and online, to engage in exchanges on how to prepare their manuscripts for international publication. It was also hoped that the forum will encourage the submissions of more stimulating and impactful articles to the “language forum.”
The forum, which was filled with exchanges of ideas on how to write for international publication, hence of great benefit to the Thai academic community, was generously funded by the Office of Research Affairs, Chulalongkorn University.
